Tetebatu and the Wisma Soedjono Hotel

This hotel was a hospital founded by Dr Soedjono and now is a low key off the beaten track hotel for those wanting a retreat or a facility to see the local culture. Hanna (one of my travel mates) also notes the showers are crap. I agree. Both Charlotte and Hanna note that the tea tasted like cow dung. I didn’t try it thank god.

After a fitful sleep and an early start to the day due to early call to prayer, a wonderful guide named Ron took us on a two hour walk through rice and tobacco fields. They grow everything here – nutmeg, ginger, vanilla, cloves, pepper and coffee.
